The principal accountabilities of this position are to:

•  Assist the Senior Protection Officer in ensuring that all daily security tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently by controlling and supervising the duty shift and assuming command over the shift.
• Ensure the correct assigning of daily tasks to all officers on duty shift and ensure that all security duty points within the Bank are adequately manned and secured and that routine security patrols and inspections are conducted within or around the building.
• Continuously operate the security console in the Main Security Control Room and conduct supervisory visits at various security duty points to ensure that subordinates are performing their duties according to the laid procedures.
• Peruse various security logbooks and registers to ensure the correct and complete recording of entries or events and to submit such registers for daily scrutiny by the Senior Protection Officer.
• Observe all Vault duties and currency handling operations in the high security areas to ensure strict adherence to security or cash handling procedures and report any irregularities to the Senior Protection Officer or Deputy Director: Protection Services.
• Conduct routine checks on security and safety equipment and systems and report any malfunctions or any condition that may pose a security risk or safety hazard to the Bank.
• Conduct Commercial Bank’s transaction in accordance with the prescribed manner, to ensure that Commercial Banks receive the necessary services.
• Carry out the necessary emergency functions in case of an emergency, to ensure that no loss of life takes place during any emergency.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned to me.
