Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years with • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the financial sector, of which at least two (2) years must be in a data analytics, data management, data modelling, or fintech environment, preferably within the financial services industry.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelors Degree in REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business Mathematics/ Data Science, Business Information Systems/Analysis and/or Informatics or related fields. • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning certification would serve as added advantage

Duties & Responsibilities


The principal accountabilities of this position are to:


  • Lead and manage divisional data technology activities to ensure effective use of data in supporting financial intelligence functions.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the Report Prioritization Model to enhance monitoring capabilities, including designing improvements, identifying anomalies, and addressing them promptly.
  • Undertake research, design and carry out surveys, and contribute to FIC publications, recommending and applying statistical and analytical techniques (including machine learning and data visualization tools) to detect suspicious transactions, activities, patterns, and trends.
  • Support Strategic Analysis output and conduct research. Perform advanced analytical tests on internal data to support financial crime detection, uncover relationships, patterns, trends, and links across persons, accounts, entities, transactions, and locations, and provide data-driven insights to address critical business questions.
  • Evaluate operational, analytical, and technological needs of the division to maximise efficiency, recommending solutions through automation, process optimisation, and effective use of goAML system functionalities.
  • Identify and establish access to external sources of information by engaging and building relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate engagement with external stakeholders through information sessions on system developments, enhancements, and implementations to strengthen collaboration.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on data integrity to ensure data is accurately organised, processed, cleansed, and verified for analysis.
  • Contribute to database architectural design and implementation, resolving database problems, queries, and errors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support process improvements for database performance, reliability, and stability, including troubleshooting complex dataset issues efficiently.
  • Prepare and present business intelligence reports and dashboards to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to the team, to build skills and enhance overall productivity.
