IT Network Security Engineer

Minimum Experience: 0-3 Years with At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role. / CCNA and Microsoft certifications (MCTS / MCITP / MCSA & MCSE) will be added advantages.
Minimum Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (Networking and Systems Administration)

Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Azure, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365
- Strong understanding of Network security principles, practices, and tools; including knowledge of firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Knowledge of Server networking technologies (i.e. DNS/WINS/NLB etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and customer skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
The principal accountabilities of this position are to:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in the IT Department to ensure that the underlying hardware firmware, server operating systems and IT infrastructure-related applications are patched monthly as guided by the Senior Systems Engineers and Senior Network Engineers.
- Address and fix vulnerabilities identified through vulnerability management scans in accordance with established vulnerability management procedures, as instructed by Senior IT Systems Engineers or Senior Network Engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into system and network design, development, and implementation processes on an ongoing basis as new systems are introduced in the Bank’s network or when changes are made to the IT infrastructure.
- Provide daily technical support and proactive maintenance by monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, performing upgrades and backups, and configuring devices in line with defined standards and best practices.
- Provide daily 1st-level technical support and guidance on security defence solutions (e.g. Firewalls, 2FA, NAC, PAM, etc.) to ensure robust network security, prevent unauthorised access, and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Continuously assess the risks associated with identified vulnerabilities by evaluating both the potential impact and the likelihood of exploitation. This assessment should consider factors such as the criticality of the affected systems and the complexity involved in exploiting the vulnerabilities.
- Conduct research and development to stay abreast of emerging security trends and technologies and communicate relevant insights to the Bank’s IT team; ensuring alignment with the latest threat intelligence and enables leveraging this information to strengthen internal controls.
- Attend to various related tasks as assigned by the Senior Engineers or the Deputy Director: IT Infrastructure.
