Minimum Experience: 5+ Years with • 4-5 related years of experience of which 2-3 years should be at supervisory level in Internal Audit, Risk and Assurance, Regulatory Compliance environment or conventional/external audit environment • Experience in Financial Intelligence Units and AML/CFT/CPF Regulatory Compliance will be an added advantage

Minimum Qualification: Bachelors Degree in • A minimum Postgraduate Degree in Internal Auditing/ Risk Management/ Regulatory Compliance/ Accounting/Commercial Law • Must be a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) • Certified Risk Practitioner/Manager • Certified AML/CFT/CPF Compliance Officer • Trained AML/CFT/CPF FATF Mutual Evaluation Assessor

Duties & Responsibilities


The principal accountabilities of this position are to:


  • Coordinating efforts with relevant stakeholders in and outside the FIC to come up with Risk Based periodic supervision plans.

 

  • Manages all stakeholder relations with the supervised populace of close to 3,000 institutions, to ensure their concerns are attended to and balanced with the FIC’s supervisory objectives.

 

  • Participate in mutual evaluations held every 8–10 years over a 2–3 year period by coordinating inputs, presenting, conducting follow-ups, reviewing findings, and advising the Head of Division accordingly.

 

  • Oversee and manage national supervision activities in line with entity, sectoral and supervisory appreciation of risk exposure.

 

  • Supervise or work with other supervisory authorities to enhance the AML/CFT/CPF framework.

 

  • Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, coordinate the execution of risk assessments and ensure the supervision functions remains abreast of all risk levels.

 

  • Manage, coordinate, and conduct onsite and offsite FIA Compliance Assessments on high risk sectors (with complex and voluminous transactions such as banks).

 

  • Provides oversight to Senior Compliance Analysts and Compliance Analysts in their management, coordination and conduct of onsite and offsite assessments for medium to low risk institutions.

 

  • Implements procedures to track entity and sectoral risk levels (high risk sector) daily and devise the necessary interventions across all sectors to ensure risks are duly mitigated.

 

  • Execution, coordination and actual management of major FIC projects related to monitoring and risk-based supervision, as the need arise

 

  • Compile compliance divisional contributions to the FIC’s various periodic reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
